My name is Mark Libertone, and I am an avid fly fisherman and fly tier. I have been tying and fishing flies since I was 13 years old. Since that time, I’ve fished all over New York State and in Germany. I settled in Wellsville, New York in 1981 and now regularly fish the Genesee River. Since that time, I have come to know and appreciate the river. I have found that while trout can be taken fairly readily on dry flies, wet flies are generally more effective on the Genny. Because of this, I have become particularly interested in the Wingless Wet Flies, and they have become my staple selection. These flies are very versatile, can be fished in the surface film or below and they can be used upstream or down. It is because of this I have strived to perfect my fly tying techniques and knowledge regarding these flies. For a number of years, now, I have been promoting the Wingless Wet Fly through articles and fly tying demonstrations. Working with other fly fishermen who love and use these flies has been a real experience and I’ve learned many things about using them. For links to my online articles on wet flies and wingless wets, look below. More articles will be attached to this site through this page. I also maintain a web site that lists various wingless wet fly patterns I use regularly. The site link may be found, also, on our links page. Copyright: 2010 The Mark Libertone Studio |
