West Virginia Posts: 1	Hi! I'm new to jig tying and hear mixed things. Sorry, I know jigs aren't actually flies, but I'd like to reach out to an array of perspectives. https://www.etsy.com/shop/MegJigginFishing?ref=hdr_shop_menu I use more marabou than most and I don't know if more is okay, or in a case like this that less or more? Appreciate feedback. :)

Site Editor Royse City, TX Posts: 1350	Hi Megen- Welcome to this forum. In my opinion, a fly tied on a jig hook certainly qualifies as a fly. As to your question about what amount of marabou to use, I believe that pretty much depends on the fly pattern you are tying, i.e. what you are trying to imitate, and perhaps other factors, such as water clarity, etc. Hope this helps.

Gallitzin PA Posts: 42	Many modern nymphs are tied on jig hooks, as far as your marabou goes, do they work? The amount you use should be directly related to its fish catching abilities and not related to what everyone else is doing ;) good luck
