Can anyone recommend a good microscope for viewing/photographing macroinvertebrates? I have a basic scope from microscope depot, but the field of vision is too narrow and the halogen bulb is HOT!

I have turned cell phones and iPads into dissecting microscopes. It is relatively easy and inexpensive. The lighting can come from ambient light or LED flashlights.

I have put directions that I have written on how to build your own Smart-D-Scope for less than $8.00 at;

I have posted some of my pictures on Flickr

This information was previously posted on this board.

If your wondering where the blue came from in your post, I converted your references to actual links for user ease.
