I just got a new william and Joseph confluence pack. I am setting it up and I am having trouble keeping my tools from getting stuck to the magnets. If anyone has any tips please share them.

Thanks

I'd bet none of us has the pack, so we don't know exactly what you're dealing with. Older W&J packs had pigtail zingers. If you have tools on them that are giving you problems you might try the reel type zingers and place them as far from the magnets (but still in reach) as possible. Good luck; typically these sorts of things get worked out in time.

This comment is off track but I just learned yesterday that swing packs work only with right handers. If you are a lefty and use a swing pack when you swing it around your torso the zipper is on the bottom. I'm glad I read that as I've been tempted to buy one.

You just got the latest Fly Fisherman magazine, didn't you? ;oD

I read the article and thought, well, somebody has to design one for "southpaws" then, huh? They're making bolt action and AR rifles for lefties now, why not a sling pack? I use one - the original Orvis Sling Pack (they've modified it at least once by now) - and I love it. Holds just enough stuff and stays out of the way once you're done fiddling around in it.

Again, just my 2 cents, works for me...

No matter how big the one you just caught is, there's always a bigger one out there somewhere...

Yep. I guess that is where I saw it. I've been getting FFM since it first came out in the mid to late 1960's. I've already given away one complete set from Vol 1 Number 1 to sometime in the early 1990's and another set from the 1990's to around 2009. I give them away hope someone else can enjoy them.
