Windham, Maine, USA Posts: 6 | Sage has always been known for making great rods. Recently, they released some pretty good reels too. I expect this year to be no different. Sage has three exciting releases for us this year, and certainly seems to have more new releases than anyone else in the marketplace. Posts: 560 | Not on my favorites list anymore. Big markup because it has the Sage name on it. There are ever bit as good of reels at a fraction of the cost IMO. I bought a $225.00 Sage reel because it had a click drag that I prefer over a disc drag. The click was made of plastic. It didn't have the rigidity to put any tension on the spool. I called Sage, and they sent me a handful of plastic pawls saying sometimes one will be stiffer than another. They can't afford to have a metal pawl installed? | |
