Thanks Roger. I was joking. But I am including the ISBN in my comprehensive spreadsheet and I hope to send out a meeting request to get your input by the end of next week. That's another joke and some insight into what I deal with every day.

Thanks Roger. I was joking.

I'll second Konchu on "The Bait." It's a very complex and sophisticated take off on Marlowe's "Passionate Shepherd to His Love." Ralegh wrote "The Nymph's Reply to the Shepherd," but Donne surpassed anything his predecessors had done. Great stuff.

Posts: 21Ernest Hemingway's short story, "Two Big Hearted River." It describes rods and fly lines and leaders. It caused me to buy a fly rod. The poetry in the prose inspired me to write short stories. I owe that story much!

I like Traver, despite his often bad writing. His trout books are timeless, nonetheless. I love his contrarian nature, his anti-commercialism, his outlaw fly fisher persona. He fished only in the U.P. of Michigan.

Duncan has a few good stories. The one about his friend named Jeremiah is a riot.

Hi William. Big Two-Hearted was the first fly fishing story I read, I think. It's unleashed a lot for me as well. I've found that most of his novels, and quite a bit of his short stories, include fly fishing characters. I didn't care much for "The Sun Also Rises," but I enjoyed the trips they take in Spain to fly fish.
Let me know if I need to lay off this topic (I'm almost as addicted to reading the trout fiction as I am to fly fishing for them non-fictionally, if I can make that up), but I don't think "The Congressman's Daughter" has been mentioned and I would put that one and "The Snowfly" as two of my favorites.

When asked what I just caught that monster on I showed him. He put on his magnifiers and said, "I can't believe they can see that."

Eric, would it be possible to persuade you to email me the spreadsheet when it's finished? I can give you my email address if so. Perhaps others would like to see it as well.

Sure, Louis. It'll be a work in progress for a long time, but I'll send you something when it feels comprehensive.
