Well, our fishing hasn't been very exciting lately, now in SE Michigan. The house I grew up in! & the hometown lake is a meager 3 miles...but the fishies have been OFF. Too warm & too much rain! Lotta algae & weeds too...a good hard effort on this beautiful day brought me up a few, taking a #8 Joe's Hopper or yellow/gold KBF. Hard fighters & running big 4 this lake!

Found something to bend the dang rod anyway, right here in the suburbs...

Tight lines to all Troutnuts! JONATHON LIVES & even scores on the dry fly yet still!
No matter how big the one you just caught is, there's always a bigger one out there somewhere...

Nice Jonathon. Fall fishing has been slow in Pennsylvania generally. I nymphed up a few yesterday, then my buddy Bill and I found a handful that would eat beetles, ants, and tiny olives later in the day. It was good to be out, but we had to work hard for our fish.

Nice Jonathon, glad to here your settled in for a while. That’s a big change from the Oscoda area to Troy. I have to admit I’m country, having grown up in Flint, I can’t stand cities!

I'm with you on that, Mike, but at least I have this little sanctuary to go throw flies at. LOTS of other fishermen & women to socialize with, some have fly rods! All are friendly & it's fun to tell them that I've been fishing this lake for...47 YEARS! Yep, since 1974,& with a fly rod since '86. Plenty of friends in the area too, plus some other nice natural areas including right behind this 50-year-old house! I get the deer parade on a regular basis, from a nursing fawn in spots to a mock fight between 6 & 7 point brothers...

But yes, my ideal living situation is probably a college town in good fishing territory! Aiming for such in my job search...

Slow on your end too Louis? We've had unseasonably warm weather with a LOT OF RAIN...I'm thinking it's still too summer-like to get the fall bite going. No panic about the inevitable coming of Old Man Winter yet! My best guess...I do know I needed 40% DEET to get the mosquitoes out of my face...In OCTOBER?

Yes, the skeeters have been thick in PA, and they've held on much longer than they should have.
