Posts: 1 | I collected this mayfly in Western North Carolina in May and I'm interested to find out the genus and/or species. I am thinking the family is Ephemerellidae. It is about 10mm long. Any ideas?

Wisconsin Posts: 663 | I collected this mayfly in Western North Carolina in May and I'm interested to find out the genus and/or species. I am thinking the family is Ephemerellidae. It is about 10mm long. Any ideas? No, not Ephemerellidae, the sub-imago has only 2 tails. My guess would be Epeorus genus.

Administrator Bellevue, WAPosts: 2737 | The family is Heptageniidae. I agree with John that Epeorus is a good guess, but I'm not positive from a female dun.
