Biography & Thoughts | I have been a fisherman for 50 years and a fly fisherman by preference for 44 years.I am a school administrator still practicing but this is merely a means to be able to afford my real "passion" of fly fishing, fly tying , amateur entomology and fly fishing travel. This site is probably , overall, the best technical fly fishing site I have ever seen ( and that is a mouthful because I have been to a number of sites over the years) I lived and fished all over Pennsylvania for the last 50 years. I am married and now make my home in the Piedmont / Burlington area of North Carolina where I regularly fish the mountain streams to my west in the Great Smokies and Blue Ridge as well as extreme south western Virginia. I still travel up to the Lake Erie feeder streams every year to enjoy the fabulous fly fishing for steelhead with an old friend of mine.I love fly tying and am currently looking to find a good clear picture of the Ephoron Leukon nymph(One of the largest trout I NEVER caught hit a dirty grayish colored no.# 14 weighted nymph one twilight evening on the Little Juniata in Pennsylvania during the White Fly hatch there). It was like trying to stop a freight train with a toothpick. I think this site can help me find that picture of that Ephoron nymph. |
