Odd Pictures from Trout Streams, Page 8
These odds and ends didn't fit into any of my other categories. Sometimes a really weird (or slightly twisted) picture opportunity presents itself and it's hard to can't pass it up. I think the oddest picture so far was the crayfish that grabbed my nymph and held on long enough for the camera.
Riding in Valdez Creek road. We weren't the only ones with this idea. The Department of Fish & Game hotline mentioned that there were some caribou in an an area reachable from this road (several miles in), but it's in a non-motorized area. So people were accessing it via foot, bicycle, and even pack horse. Taiga found the horses very interesting.

Pretty setting. I've suffered some miserable weather in pursuit of big game, but I always seem to actually succeed when the weather's fantastic.

Panorama of a trout stream valley after a May thunderstorm.
Wild geranium. I'm not sure how to tell which species this is within the genus Geranium, but Geranium erianthum is common in Alaska, so that may be it.
