Odd Pictures from Trout Streams, Page 26
These odds and ends didn't fit into any of my other categories. Sometimes a really weird (or slightly twisted) picture opportunity presents itself and it's hard to can't pass it up. I think the oddest picture so far was the crayfish that grabbed my nymph and held on long enough for the camera.

Bringing in the meat cart. My caribou was shot about 1/5 mile uphill from the road/trail, and our backpacks were back at the car, so I decided to bring my bike up across the tundra and use it to wheel the meat back to the road in one heavy, frustrating load.
Moonrise over Mt Sanford. An unusually clear view of this mountain from 90 miles away on the Denali Highway
Fireweed. This is what Alaska's iconic purple flowers look like once they've gone to seed
Whorled lousewort (Pedicularis verticillata). This might also belong to other Pedicularis species, including sudetica and langsdorfii... I'm just guessing.

The "trail" often disappeared completely into large swaths of muddy marsh grass or peat bogs
