This is the first grizzly bear I've seen.  It's in Denali National Park.  People with long-range binoculars, plus the view through a couple spotting scopes the park installed at this stop, verified that the little light spot my arrow is pointing to is, in fact, a grizzly bear.  This is the closest view I got. From Denali National Park in Alaska.

I took this picture on my way home from Homer, from one of the Denali overlooks on the Parks Highway a ways north of Talkeetna.  That is an amazing drive at all times of year, and spring is no exception.  The highest, most distant mountain visible is Denali / Mount McKinley, while the rest of the Alaska Range rises over the Chulitna River in the foreground. From Parks Highway in Alaska.
