Rhyacophila vocala (Green Sedge) Caddisfly LarvaRhyacophila vocala (Green Sedge) Caddisfly Larva View 11 PicturesThis specimen is very tentatively placed in Rhyacophila vocala, but see the caveats given by Dave Ruiter in its identification: "There are two species (hyalinata and vocala) currently within the group and this looks closest to R. vocala. It is likely, however, there are several undescribed species in the group and this is one of those."

Male Psychoglypha (Snow Sedges) Caddisfly AdultMale Psychoglypha (Snow Sedges) Caddisfly Adult View 2 PicturesThis Psychoglypha adult was found clinging to my garage door in the evening on April 9, 2013. It measures 21 mm in length, from the front of head to the end of wings. It is my hope that Creno will be able to identify it to species based on the image of its genitalia. However, if other images are required for a species ID, the specimen is available, so they can be easily taken. Thanks, Roger Rohrbeck, Mercer Island, WA.

Lepidostoma podagrum (Little Brown Sedge) Little Brown Sedge LarvaLepidostoma podagrum (Little Brown Sedge) Little Brown Sedge Larva View 2 PicturesThe photo of the specimen cased is alive. The photo of the uncased larva is the same specimen taken after it was preserved in its case. Unfortunately, there was a lot of pigment transfer making the specimen look olivaceous. In life it was grayish white as shown in the first photo.
